生物学分野の人々が自身の研究を幅広い層に紹介する機会となる同コンテスト。世界中の生態学者、進化生物学者、動物学者らが、「自然界における関係性」「地球環境の保護」「実践的な研究」の3つのカテゴリーで作品を応募。総合優勝に輝いたインドのベルハンプール大学の学生 Sritam Kumar Sethy氏の作品「Window to the Wetlands（湿地への窓）」をはじめ、地球を研究する人々の視点を通して、自然の美しさや多様性を伝える写真の数々が選ばれています。
